January Market Update
The Langley real estate market has taken off with a bang this year. As expected the market has regained it's vigor that was lost in the latter part of 2006. So far this year i am ahead of last year in sales and our RE/MAX Treeland office has done more sales in January 2007 than in January 2006, which was a record for a Janaury back then!
Although prices haven't risen yet i do expect some price rise to begin to occur as existing listings disappear and new inventory comes on higher. We should regain all the market value lost in the last four months of 2006.
CMHC has predicted more modest growth for the Lower Mainland this year expecting a rise of 6 to 8% by the end of theyear. It is possible to expect that the rise may be higher by the time we reach July but may slip back in the latter months similar to 2006 and 2004.
Overall, demand is still strong, inventory is still low and the interest rates appear stable. The market for Langley looks good for another year.
